One of the things I like about living here is the low cost of putting a roof over my head. Personally I live in a house that only cost 7,000 Baht a month. The house I live in is a two bedroom two bathroom with a small yard in a gated village. As I have been living in this house for 5 years I think I have a better deal than most people would get because my rent has never gone up in that time. If you look hard enough you should be able to land a deal as good as I have or maybe even better. The way I found my place was I picked an area I thought I would like then I moved into a temporary place to live and then just looked around from there. I prefer to get on the motor bike and cruse around looking for, "for rent" signs and call the numbers on the signs. If you don't do motorbike well then walking is just fine, and it is good exercise. Also ask your friends many times they will know of a place just waiting for you. There are many free publications that have rentals listed in them, these are a great way to look as you can cover allot of ground in a short period of time. Then there is the internet with lots of pictures and better descriptions than in the publications. I have posted below links to real estate websites that may help get you started. One thing I have found here in Pattaya is that sometimes the prices can be crazy, I mean what some people think their property is worth is just crazy, so beware, and do your homework.
